Gumbi Gumbi

Post by I AM ALL I AM »

Okie dokes, anecdotal evidence to start with ...

I will refrain from naming this individual for various reasons and simply call him a mate.

A mate was pulled over by police and arrested for driving whilst disqualified, not the first time for this, and, having had a holiday previously (jail time), was looking at another holiday paid for by the NSW state government. There were some medical issues and he was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with cancer, induced into a coma and given the standard cancer causing 'treatments' that the medical mafia/establishment use. This was only beneficial as it allowed him to avoid another state paid holiday.

After coming out of the coma, he realised that the 'treatment' was killing him and checked himself out of the hospital. I saw him the day after and I really do not know how he was able to check himself out of the hospital except by will alone. When I saw him, he had been driven to the place where I was at and my first impression of seeing him was that he was 'death warmed up'. I walked behind him from the car to make sure he didn't fall as he was swaying and not able to walk in a straight line. He was unable to talk above a whisper and was also unable to stop drooling. He had lost that much weight that he looked emaciated to the point of starvation.

In the loudest possible whisper he could manage he stated to me, "You were right, you were bloody right", referring to the medical mafia 'treatment' and our previous discussions about it being lethal. He further stated that he knew that if he had not have checked out of the hospital (against all advice from the medical staff) it would have killed him. Of course, the cancer would have been labelled as the 'cause of death', not the treatment.

Skip forward approximately a week and the difference was absolutely incredible. The only issue he had from the 'treatment' was that he still could not talk above a loud whisper. Everything else had improved to a point that many would call it 'miraculous'.

What made the difference ... Gumbi Gumbi.

I had known about it for a while, seen it in tablet form being bought for those with cancer, though I didn't research it myself (something that I REALLY should have done). I recently made friends with someone that has a friend with cancer, which has gone to the point where she has been told that there is nothing left to do for her. She was on 21 pharmaceuticals prior to starting the Gumbi Gumbi treatment last week. She stopped taking the pharmaceuticals once she started on the Gumbi Gumbi and is looking at doing a video diary of her treatment with friends. When I get details of it will add a link to this thread.

The new friend and I (both having long term physical conditions, > 10 years) got ourselves a supply of Gumbi Gumbi as well and started using it immediately with spectacular results. It is great for more than cancer and appears to be a panacea. I have been treating myself for a condition that I have been told is incurable and degenerative since January, 2000. It was a worsening of a condition that was caused by the treatment I received at the age of 4, as well as my treatment of my physicality (incorrect eating being a major reason - McDonalds coke, etc). The Gumbi Gumbi has accelerated my self treatment and, for the first time in 15 years, I am relatively free of pain (compared to what I am used to) without smoking copious amounts of cannabis.

Now, I am used to sleeping very few hours a day. The pain caused by physical condition interrupts sleep to the point that I have been 'diagnosed' with insomnia. It was rare that I actually got more than 2-4 hours sleep without it being 'broken/interrupted' by waking up in pain. Since taking the Gumbi Gumbi, I have had uninterrupted sleep of over 6 hours, something I could probably count on both hands having happened in the last 15 years. I even had around 10 hours sleep the second day, 6 hours at night and another 4 during the day.

I am looking into acquiring a Gumbi Gumbi tree, possibly from a nursery, though I would love a cutting or seeds directly from the tree in its natural state (the bush). So, there might be a road trip coming up.

Anyway, end of anecdotal evidence and onto some 'scientific evidence' ...

Biological and chemical examination of Pittosporum phillyraeoides

Undertaken at the Institute of Pharmacy
Department of Pharmaceutical Biology
Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University Greifswald, Germany, July 2007
http://www.uni-greifswald.de/en.html

The leaves of Pittosporum phillyraeoides DC var. microcarpa S. Moore or leaf extracts resp. are called “Gumby Gumby” by the Australian Aboriginals, and they are used for medical treatments. For some time now it is proclaimed on the Internet the plant has an effect on cancer and other diseases. But until now there are no scientific results to support this statement known. Biological testing of the leaves/extracts on a cellular level in vitro was not done until now. Some preliminary phytochemical investigations have been done only about 20 years ago. The diploma thesis were intended to contribute a scientific verification for the use of P. phillyraeoides and showed the following results:

Morphological examination of the leaves
The dried leaves are yellow green, long and narrow, and have a weak aromatic fragrance. They taste bitter and cause some itching of the throat. Microscopy of a cross-section of the leave shows a dorsiventral leaf structure with druses in the mesophyll.

Qualitative phytochemical analysis
During screening investigations secondary plant substances belonging to the following groups could be found:

- Saponins, probably belonging to the triterpen saponins
- The presence of saponins was confirmed by the froth test and by the blood agar test.
- Other terpenoid compounds, probably as components of essential oils or as bitter principles.
- Phenols, more detailed examination showed that they are tannins and flavonoids, but other phenols are also possible.
- The presence of cumarins seems to be possible.

With respect to the exact chemical structure of the compounds more investigations are necessary.

Quantitative phytochemical analysis
The leaf showed a small content of 1.34% tannins, calculated as pyrogallol. Also the flavonoid content, which was determined with two different methods, calculated as hyperosid, was fairly low with 0.54 and 0.54% respectively. On the other hand the content of carbohydrates was fairly high with 29.17%. Further on 4.53% protein and 6.24% lipids were found.

Antibacterial activities
None of the tested extracts showed a noteworthy inhibition of the tested bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillis subtilis, Escherichia coli, Micrococcus flavus, Pseudomonas aeroginosa or of the fungus Candida maltosa.

Free radical scavenging activities
Many of the extracts showed only moderate radical binding capacity, compared to ascorbic acid. The most active extract was the methanol 80% extract.

Cytotoxic activities
The extracts showed in the neutral red assay weak to moderate cytotoxicity against FL cells and lung cancer cells of the cell line A427. The polar ethanolic and water extracts showed a higher cytotoxicity than the lipophilic extracts. The extracts performed with cold ethanol, hot ethanol, Amylase treatment (1 day) and methanol showed the lowest IC50-values in the range between 60 to 83 ug/ml against FL cells. The following extracts showed the strongest suppression (IC50 values in the range of 83-119 µg/ml) of the growing A427 cells: hot water, methanol, methanol 80% and cold ethanol.

Effect of selected extracts on human blood leucocytes
The extracts effective against FL and the tumor cell line A427 (tea, cold ethanol and Amylase 1 day) were also tested on primary human leucocytes. Concentrations which were highly cytotoxic for FL and tumor cells, showed a stimulating effect on the human blood cells (MTT test). Cytotoxic effects are only observed in far higher concentrations.

Immunmodulatory properties of selected extracts
The extracts with cancer cell cytotoxicity were also tested for their immunomodulatory properties. It could be shown that the extracts stimulate human blood cells to produce in vitro Tumor Necrosis Factor a up to cytotoxic concentrations.

Summary
The effects observed in the in vitro studies with various leaf extracts from phillyraeoides DC var. microcarpa S. Moore correspond to the clinical observations of the assumed therapeutical benefit of Gumby Gumby in cancer patients. At least in vitro a suppression of tumor cells was shown. Especially the Amylase treated (1day) extract, which imitates the process used by the Aboriginals for breaking down the leaves, as well as the tea, made according to Gumby Gumby Natural Therapeutic Products Ltd., were noticeable for their cytotoxic effect as well as their immune stimulating effects. Further investigations are necessary to identify the compounds which are responsible for the cancer cell cytoxicity and the immunomodulatory properties as well as to get more information about the mode of action of these natural compounds.

Gday I am all I am (W)

What product on that page would you recommend for Cancer treatment? The extract, salve or the tea? or would it depend on what type of cancer you have?

Where did the tablets come from you mentioned your friends are on?

G'day Oneofmany.

I get my supply from an indigenous friend in Nimbin, who get them from a relation who collects the leaves, dries them and puts them in the capsules. So I'm not really the one to ask that as I have no firsthand experience buying it online.

I have been informed that apparently a nursery in Crows Nest, Sydney sells the plant, so I would suggest getting your own supply, something I will be doing myself, though for me, having a supply, there is no rush, and if I have to, I will source out a plant in the bush.

Other than that, go with your intuition on it, or give the choice to the individual with cancer.

The lady that I got them for is looking to also make the Rick Simpson cannabis oil and there are 9 seeds set up to sprout so that we can do the raw juicing as well. Probably unnecessary, though a 3 pronged treatment is something that is a positive mentally for this lady, and anything that creates positive thoughts at this point for her is to be embraced.

I have been reading up on Gumbi Gumbi and am interested on which species of Gumbi Gumbi is the actual one with the healing properties? I have read there are at least 6 species and only one of them has the healing properties. Do you know the botanical name by any chance?

also info on this is very limited, so any updates on your first hand experience both using it and it's affect on others would be a tremendous benefit.

look forward to hearing more about it.

Fuck, 5% battery left on the tablet.

Here.s the link anyway ...

Patricia Gardner said... This is an fairly easy plant to buy. It is available from from Crows Nest Community Nursery (at $2.50 per plant), and in quite a lot of other places. It is probably best to ask for them by their botanical name. (Pittsoporum angustifolium is their up-to-date name, but some suppliers still use their old name, Pittosporum phillyraeoides.) Not everyone calls them "Gumby Gumby. It is such a common plant that it has acquired lots of common names. I've heard it called mee-meei, cumby cumby, cattle bush, butter bush, and even butter bean! They are also very easy to grow from seed, so it can be a very simple matter go find a plant in the bush or by a roadside - as I said, they are very common - and grow your own. Trish

Patricia Gardner wrote:Well, Anonymous, I'm certainly delighted for you, if your story is true. Of course the internet is the internet, the place where anyone can write anything anonymously, especially if they don't want anyone to know that they are really a person selling gumby gumby leaf, and not a genuine curee at all.
However, I acknowledge that you may be a real ex-cancer sufferer with a genuine story, and if this is the case I am very pleased to hear of your success.
You will notice that nowhere have I ever denied that gumby gumby might be a cure for cancer. Neither have I suggested the opposite.
I consider that I have no reliable knowledge on the subject of whether it is effective.
I am aware, however, that despite the rather widespread use of gumby gumby in the hope of a cancer cure, and the development of an industry selling the leaf, there are still many deaths from cancer. As I understand it nobody has actually conducted a study beginning with a reasonable number of gumby gumby users with previous diagnoses of cancer, then following their progress and assessing the actual cure rate. While I wish these users well, and hope that their efforts are met with success, I do not wish my blogsite to be used as a forum to discuss the subject, let alone to push the cause of an unproven cure.
I remind my readers that the topic of this blog is plants and their place in the environment and as ornamental plants in gardens.
No further correspondence on the subject of the possible medicinal qualities of this plant will be accepted.

Bought some tea from gumbygumby.com. It better have some effect because it was way too expensive (35$ + 25$ shipping for 30 grams) I have some sort of lump in my throat that makes difficult to swallow certain foods. I visited several doctors and all told it's from acid reflux. My personal feeling is that it could be throat cancer in early stage. I just don't feel good about it.

Fucking tablet dropped the Web browser right at the end of my reply. :cuss2

So, ...

G'day UG.

Keep me informed mate. If required, I could send you some or fly you out here, either way. :cool2011

Okay, I mentioned that I had completed forty days last Monday, went without for a few days while awaiting new stock, and started again on Friday. I haven't had anything else benefit the physicality in such a manner apart from cannabis (which I think that the raw juicing would be a VERY beneficial manner in which to utilise the plant, gaining maximum medicinal benefits) and I highly recommend Gumbi Gumbi.

The mate taking it with me has major improvements with his condition. He has reported reconnection of nerve signals that he hasn't had for 20 odd years. So a HUGE improvement for him.

He has also bought some for a friend with aspergers, so I will update the thread when I find out how it is going with the aspergers.

For the record, I have been healing a condition that I have been told is incurable and degenerative for the last 15 years. While I have worked out a way to heal that which I have been told is incurable, the Gumbi Gumbi has accelerated the healing process.

G'day JohnUU.

The gumbi treatment that I know of is 10 capsules a day. Are you taking more than 1 capsule 3 times a day?

I should add, 10 a day is the cancer treatment.

Anyway, it is awesome for the elimination system. Every cell is either absorbing or eliminating at any moment. Gumbi helps with the elimination process, while Moringa will help with the absorption process (Moringa - 90+ nutrients, 18 amino acids, 46 antioxidants & 36 different antiinflammatory compounds).

I recently went four months without access to either and really noticed the difference, especially when taking them again. I am using Moringa at the moment, no Gumbi though, so I am looking forward to getting some more.

Sorry for the delay chap.

I take the extract at recommended dosage rates. I recently picked up a bottle of pure extract and instead of mixing with Baker's Yeast (a no-no in my understanding) or apple cider vinegar non-pasteurized, freely distilled, I am instead taking a straight dosage of 30ml extract.
Now, the extract may not have been seeped long enough - this is an assumption because the distiller was not sure how long she seeped the leaves - so my 30 mls may or may not be intensive enough.

And, no, the affect on my health appears to be unchanged.

So I am going to go pure gum turpentine for a cleanse and continue with administering 30 mls of Gumby Gumby for maintenance.

G'day JohnUU.

No worries mate, no rush.
:cool2011

I am fortunate to get gumbi gumbi from some indigenous 'Australians', so it is the leaf dried out, powdered and put in capsules.

That might be the whole difference right there.

If you can get to Nimbin, NSW, Australia, I could introduce you so that you have access to the same source.
